No activity has been seen on this bug since 20040223 and it is still in UNCONFIRMED \
state. This probably means that the information provided was not clear enough, or \
that the bug is not valid anymore. Please test and confirm that this bug is still \
valid with the latest cooker version, or close it.

My scanner doesn't seem to be supported by any kernel since 10.0 beta1, so I'm
unable to test this.

Presently the text for hotplug icon for scanners is something like:
Kooka /dev/usb/scanner0
This is not very descriptive, especially the /dev/blahblah part which means
nothing to unexperienced people.
I suggest that the icon should have device name, as returned by lspcidrake.
E.g. in my case it would be "ScanJet 4300C"
