------- Additional Comments From hbekker@introweb.nl 2004-08-31 21:00 -------
That's great, but it's still in Mandrake 10.1 beta 2. Will it be resolved in
beta 3?

description:
I have a Lacie external DVD burner connected to a pci firewire card. Harddrake
in MKD10.1beta2 configures the eth1394.ko module to load. This module grabs
eth0 and leads to an unworkable network. the Lacie is not recognized as a
CDROM/DVD and is inoperable.

Solution: Harddrake should correctly identify the Lacie burner as a ieee1394
cdrom and configure the applicable module (scsi_mod?).

The Lacie works fine with mandrake 10.0.
