But it also fails if you are using a KOMA version in your LaTeX distribution that does not know 
about a style that was added to a later version of KOMA. And that was what I was referring to. If 
you send someone your file created with e.g. KOMA version 2 but he has only KOMA version 1 he won't 
be able to compile it.
My example should demonstrate that backward compatibility has its limits.

However, don't get me wrong, of course we should try to keep the backward compatibility for 
versatile document classes. But I still don't get why I cannot add a style to a layout of a 
submission class where you nevertheless have to use in every case the latest package version to be 
able to submit.
