It sounds like you've got a terminal login at the ppp server, which is not the same \
as connecting to your shell account. at the prompt, after giving your name and \
passwd, try typing ppp and enter. If you get a bunch of junk, that's the ppp signal. \
Click t he continue box and your machine should have IP connectivity for all \
programs.
