Hi Folks,

I am trying to configure a Poweredge 1850 to send snmp traps to an
OpenNMS installation. I have verified that this is working correctly in
that the traps are being sent. In the source server's /var/log/messages
I get the following if I pull a power cord (I get other messages as
well, but am including just one as an example):

Server Administrator: Instrumentation Service EventID: 1306 Redundancy
lost Redundancy unit: BMC PS Redundancy Chassis location: Main System
Chassis Previous redundancy state was: Normal

In OpenNMS I get the following:

Received unformatted enterprise event
(enterprise:.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1 generic:6 specific:1306). 6
args: .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.5000.10.1.0="" \
.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.5000.10.2.0=".0.0.0" .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.5000.10.3.0="" \
.1.3.6....

If I look in the Dell MIB file I see the following:

<mask>
                <maskelement>
                        <mename>id</mename>
                        <mevalue>.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1</mevalue>
                </maskelement>
                <maskelement>
                        <mename>generic</mename>
                        <mevalue>0</mevalue>
                </maskelement>
                <maskelement>
                        <mename>specific</mename>
                        <mevalue>1306</mevalue>
                </maskelement>
        </mask>
        <uei>uei.opennms.org/mib2opennms/alertRedundancyLost</uei>
        <event-label>MIB-Dell-10892 defined trap event:
alertRedundancyLost</event-label>
...
...
</event>

How is it that the generic event that OpenNMS is receiving is 6 whereas
the generic event that's defined in the MIB is 0? From all I can see,
this should be the same event, but I'm assuming it's not being
recognized in OpenNMS because it's looking for the generic value to be
0.

Thanks, Tom
