I just want to echo putting /boot on its own disk...   When everything is w=
orking fine, it doesn't matter a lot.   When something breaks, it makes thi=
ngs easier to work on/with...

So for z, put your /boot onto its own small minidisk. Then let INITRD magic=
 bring up LVM smarts to get the VG(s) going.
