Thanks for your prompt reply.
I will have a go doing what you have suggested.
Once I finish my book manuscript, I might try to give the above idea
ago, as an amateur. There is already a python script to port vim
settings to the gtk2/gedit aside of things.
The difficulty is knowing what the RHS csv fields in kate stand for and
also the structure to be followed since I think the kate schema is not
in XML.
