Summary: temporarily changing the encoding view of a text always
asks to either save or close the text for it has been
modified but there is no change visible
           Product: kate
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kwrite
        AssignedTo: kwrite-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: bugzilla kerridis de

Version: 4.4 (using KDE 3.4.0, Debian Package 4:3.4.0-0pre3 (3.1))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11-kanotix-7

When I for example open a text in kwrite that is encoded with iso8859-15 and kwrite \
is set to utf8, then the text is shown with wrong chars. That's normal. But when I \
temporarily want to change the encoding (now Extras menu) to view it correctly a) I \
am asked to either save the text or close it for it had been modified and b) when I \
hit "save" or "cancel" for I did not want to close it nothing changes in view. In \
"old" kwrite (KDE 3.3.x) in that case the text was shown in the right encoding what \
is the expected and needed behaviour. _______________________________________________
