Summary: kate gets confused by more complex Python source codes
(should be mostly due to different kinds of string
                    definition syntaxes and comment types)
           Product: kate
           Version: 2.3.2
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kwrite-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: roosen vollmer-roosen de

Version: 2.3.2 (using KDE 3.3.2, (3.1))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.7-1-686

1. multiply nested string definitions with escaped apostrophs etc. seem to confuse \
Kate (also reported by others).

2. in combination with also nested comment definitions (for easier \
inclusion/exclusion of code blocks as doc string parts) this produces a total mess of \
syntax highlighting.

The code itself is correct, though, as the program itself is operative in every \
respect. _______________________________________________
