OS/Compiler notes: 

With CVS build from 30th March, KWrite does not have a horizontal scrollbar. If a \
text document has long lines, any text beyond the right side of the window cannot be \
accessed. There is no horizontal scroll bar displayed, and it does not automatically \
scroll if the cursor goes off the right of the window.

This is also true for Kate.
