Package: kwrite
Version: 3.0 (using KDE 2.2.2 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 2.95.3
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Gentoo Linux (www.gentoo.org)

I can't believe my eyes!
After typing :
kwrite `perl -e 'print "A" x 8200;'`
in konsole, kwrite starts and then X server crashes. This is perfectly reproductible \
on my machine, and it works only if the number passed in parameters is larger than \
8191. It happens only in kwrite, kword survives without any problem.
I paste here the log of my kde (together with XFree one, I am going to send this \
report to xfree.org too) :
