Summary: Copying window properties into window specific settings
                    with a mouse click
           Product: systemsettings
           Version: 4.1
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kwinoptions
        AssignedTo: kwin@kde.org
        ReportedBy: sven@kionetworks.com

Version: (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

In window specific settings, in the "window" tab, specifying the window type
can be done automatically with clicking the button "Detect window properties".
After that, the specific settings (window should be forced 500x300 pixels, on
desktop 3, etc) can be manually specified.

There should also be a "detect window properties" like button on the other
tabs, so that value's can be filled in automatically just by clicking a window.
This makes it faster and (much more importantly) easier to make these
specifications. Things like window size are very difficult to guess and
aligning a window graphically and then selecting the values I want to detect
automatically and then using "detect window properties" and clicking the window
to fill in the values would be much better.

Example: I have 4 windows on one desktop and I want their sizes to be forced on
desktop 3 and I want them all to be nicely filling up one quarter of the
screen. But what is the x,y position of each window? and what is the x,y size
of each window? I dont know exactly how many pixels I have in y because of the
task bar.. So I would start guessing which probably takes some 3-4 guesses to
get something nicely which is a tedious job. Simply putting the windows in
their places, and for each window "detect properties" gets it done in just a
click.
