I'm having the same issue on 3.5.7 using full screen mode in dosbox.  I guess this is \
a feature of kwin in that it is trying to adjust to new modes, but perhaps 1) it \
should only do this when a kde app initiates the resolution change (e.g. the \
resolution applet or changing the resolution on startup), and/or 2) it should be a \
toggle.  I would actually prefer that my desktop always be the size of the virtual \
desktop and that changing the resolution only acts as a "zoom" feature.  (i.e. I \
would turn the toggle suggested by 2) off.) \
