Your message with subj: win key does not work as a modifier

The win key does work as a modifier, you just have to setup your keyboard
properly. If you use the KDE keyboard layout switcher, make sure you use the
pc105 keyboard, not just pc102. Or use your distribution specific tool to
configure the keyboard for XFree86.

Package: kwin
Version: KDE 3.0.3
Severity: normal
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs

OS: Linux

This bug was reported once and fixed, but I find that it's broken again.

The WIN key is defined by KDE as F13, and works upon pressing (bound to \
windows-menu).

This doesn't let me use the Win key to bind a lot of other, quite useful features.

For example, it is very natural to bind WIN+number to switching to a given desktop, \
or WIN+arrow to directional desktop navigation.

I think it is best if the WIN key worked in the following way:
1. It works as a modifier, i.e. if I press it and then press some other key, it is a \
multi-key combination. 2. If I press it and release without pressing anything else, \
it can work as a regular F13.
