I think the problem is that your model does still return completions. Maybe 
you can add a smart watcher to the completion range, and if it is shorter 
then N characters reset all completions, and once it is long enough again 
recompute them. Also you've got to consider that the word completion can be 
used in conjunction with other completion models, so the completion widget is 
not necessarily closed when word-completion has no matches. So the words 
should be updated anyway.
