Have you used the same Qt version for all these 3 Kopete releases? We suspect 
that this is a Qt bug in QTextEdit/QTextView, because there are reports of 
similar problems in other KDE applications.

If you think it's truly Kopete please let us know, because for now we'll wait 
at least until the next Qt version before trying to fix this.

Also, a reliable way to reproduce would be *very* welcome, because as you said 
we only get the problem occasionally, which would make it a pain to track 
down.

Anyway, thanks for your report, and hopefully some additional info :-)
