Subject: [Kopete-devel] Bug#44221: Multiple lines of text cover same space
From: burnscharlesn () hotmail ! com

[Download RAW message or body]
Package: kopete
Version: 0.4.1 (using KDE 3.0.1 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: Gentoo
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-gentoo-r5
OS/Compiler notes:
This has surely been reported before, but I could not find it with a few searches.
Very often multiple lines of text will be drawn on top of each-other, much like if \
you print a single line, a bunch of backspace characters, and another different line \
to a line printer. This has occurred in the last three releases of Kopete (earlier \
releases I have not used) Sometimes scrolling back or otherwise forcing the window to \
redraw will clean everything up, but usually the lines are drawn on top of eachother \
anyway. This does not happen to every line, that is, not every single line of text is \
drawn on the same area--usually two lines at a time and most of the lines are drawn \
as they should be. It seems that Kopete's informational text is usually what \
overwrites the message text, for example: "Message to Willim at 06:40:52 pm:"
will overwrite the last line from the previous message.
This is in ICQ if that makes any difference. I do not use any other IM.
