Subject: Bug#44522: konqueror's file view shows "size" of directories, preferable would be number of entries

Package: konqueror
Version: 3.0.1 (using KDE 3.0.1 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-4GB
OS/Compiler notes:

In konqueror (file browser) the list view shows a size for directories. What this \
size is is not obvious to anyone, in fact I can only guess what it is, it is what "ls \
-ld" shows as size, but not (the more useful) "du -sh" shows as directory size.

I think this directory size is never interesting and suggest replacing it with the \
number of entries in the directory. [Or alternatively with the "du -sh" value, but \
that would be too expensive I guess.]

To get an idea what I mean have a look at nautilus2.
