The direct answer is 'no'
But I don't see that problem occuring here since the old mime does not have
a pattern defined.
So; the mime-type is different AND the patterns are different. From a computer
perspective they are 2 totally different things.
Also check the kdelibs/kio/magic file, it defines the new mimetype according to
the binairy document (used when no extention is present).
