that doesn't necessarily mean it needs to be branded or marketed. it could, 
but investment isn't the only metric to take into account when deciding that 
the libraries should be productized and put through a marketing process.

marketing a platform:

* involves talking not to existing or potential users, but to other developers

* requires having a story about why your libraries are important enough to 
care about

as such, it takes marketing resources that could be applied to users and is 
not as straightforward to come up with a compelling story for. it's also 
really easy / tempting to throw library marketing into end user communication, 
which does nobody any real good, so it requires some additional discipline.

what will be the hoped for returns of branding and marketting the koffice 
libraries? are there other ways to achieve that without branding/marketing?
