You could find some interesting code somewhere in the history of the SVN tree \
(removed in commit 955276). I suggest you first find a way to mark a pice of text as \
read-only in KWord. The text:protected attribute (my memory may be failing, check the \
spec) is not supported, and without this your TOC will always feel strange : users \
will be able to freely edit it, you will not like that.
BTW, one year ago, it was said that the TOC had to be implemented as a KoVariable, \
through a plugin. Thinking about it again, I think it was a bad choice, doing it \
directly in KoTextLoader is much better IMHO.
In the old code, I think you can find some classes to represent the TOC generation \
rules.
