I don't use precompiled packages but I have my koffice dir separated from the
kdedir and that works without problems.
here is the part of my profile:
export KDEDIR=/opt/kde4t
export KODIR=/opt/ko2
export KDEDIRS=$KDEDIR:$KODIR
