Point is that these numbers are mostly based on very vocal users. Take
Mandriva - rolling out millions of desktops each year (really!). I
don't think Ubuntu does half of that... Corporate users often use
Novell linux desktop or OpenSuse, they know novell. And Red Hat is
also awfully popular. Really, I think it's mostly marketing and noise.
Like everyone believes Gnome has 70% of the desktop and KDE is
impossible to use for anyone but the 1% most experienced
computerusers; of course, Qt is non-free software. Reality is
different.

Anyway, it doesn't matter, of course. Kubuntu is a good distro, Riddel
rocks - so working with them is fine by me. Just don't forget it's
still Suse which sponsors most KDE developers ;-)
