That is seriously strange and a major bug.  Note that the error message 
is not very helpful.  Note that I don't think that I formatted any more 
of the sheet than I was using -- I learned not to format blank sheet in 
DOS. :-)

Thanks for the tip.  However, that should be the default since it *is* 
the default in other spreadsheets and users will expect it.

When saving it can take minutes to save the Icon Renaming DB on my 400 
MHz system.

It can take most of a minute to repaint the screen when switching 
windows or desktops-- but not always.

Sometimes it just seems to be "contemplating its navel" and won't accept 
input.  Perhaps this is a very slow recalculate although I have nothing 
to recalculate.  If this is recalculation, then auto recalculate should 
be in the background.
