How can we make sure this kind of regression (on a branch thats been 
feature frozen for months now) will never happen again?

Do you have one or more patches that in retrospect were not a good idea to 
commit to this branch, so this is a lesson learned? Or should we ask you 
to do a full week of regression testing before the next release?
