In fact, the workbook, not only a sheet, can be embedded.

FYI, in Microsoft Office, it is even more inconsistent. The embedded
ActiveX component is called "Microsoft Excel worksheet", yet actually
a whole workbook is embedded. I reckon this is because at one time
only one of the worksheet is that workbook can be displayed (but any
can be in-place edited).
