to be more precise for kent's benefit: while we don't make precise dates that 
far in advance, KDE projects often do set out general targets once there is a 
decent idea of what will be accomplished in the next release.

i imagine that once the koffice team has a good grasp of the goals and targets 
for 2.0 that a target such as "Octoboer 2006" can be made. as things get 
closer we can see if we can release exactly on the 29th, which probably means 
targetting for Oct 1 to allow for some slide time.

but that's all fodder for the koffice maintainers / release dude to discuss.
