There's a "user way" to do it, see paragraph 4.7 of 
http://opensource.mimos.my/fosscon2003cd/extras/ooo_ufaq.html

and there apparently are ways to script it:

After a quick glance I think it would be possible with some cruel macros and 
starting OO.o in non-interactive mode (invisible, headless, whatever).
