some months ago, I learned on this list that:

I would like to know if there have been progresses or any news about
this since last may, starting from the questions below.

The reason is I hope to write an article to draw attention on this
problem and, hopefully, generate enough interest that more developers
and end users start helping you with code, testing and so on.

Any feedback is appreciated!
