One possibility is to read:
http://www.koffice.org/developer/tasks/kdebugs.php
especially the "Junior Job" section.

There is also a need of developers for OASIS support.

Or you could choose an application that you prefer and ask what task are there 
to do.

Otherwise, there is still the possibility to test KOffice CVS HEAD, write 
documentation and probably many more...
