To be precise; internally everything should be stored in pt, and the 
units-widget should be seen as a 'view' on those pt values.

Typing 1mm will convert that internally to pt; and then back again when you 
want to show it in the GUI.
Elsewhere in this thread David showed that when using koUnit you will indeed 
get 1mm, instead of 1.000001 mm
