But there is a difference if you want to use the application stand-alone,
or as simple a part of a container application.
If you want to e.g. show a image component in KWork, you don't really want
to load Krita with it's complex imaging model.
At least I would prefer to load something easier, at e.g. the complexity
of KolourPaint.

Unfortunately there is no WordPad equivalent in KDE, yet, i.e. a simple
rich-text enabled editor which can load and save RTF (and perhaps HTML).
I think that would all what is needed for simple shopping lists.
It is possible to factor out this simple functionality from KWord, or does
there exist a rich text editor component in Qt?
