am_edit (used with automake) and unsermake (the alternative solution)
have a different algorithm for deciding on the extension of generated
files (the basic rule is simple: do like the other files in the directory do,
but the border cases like mixed extension, or no source file at all, lead
to a different result).
So listing both .cc and .cpp in .cvsignore, for generated files, is correct.
Even more correct is to use srcdir!=builddir which makes all this unnecessary,
of course, but that's another topic :)
