Then; in your case; leave the email open for a couple of minutes and work on
something different. And when you get back read and send it.
I have been known to keep an important email in my drafts folder for a day
and look at it from time to time, making adjustments.

When I send from mutt, it worked great; when I send from KMail (with a kde
profile) it is still moderated.
