I have not idea.  With Debian "unstable" has a much different meaning.

Anywho: I build GCC-3.3.1 from source.  Except for on problem in 
kdemultimedia (which existed for previous versions of GCC) KDE builds fine 
with this compiler.  But this appears to be a linker problem.
