|  The main difference is the preview saved into the file. That's 7000 bytes
| that don't compress. The other difference is the XML being a bit bigger,
| due to the added features in 1.2 (mostly the frame styles and table styles
| being saved into the document. This is _fixed_ size, the bigger the
| document is, the less important the difference will be, in proportion).

Ok, thanks for clarification, now it's clear to me.
Can I disable preview generation somewhere?

Nice to know :-)

In fact, I has been quite confused by the fact of "KWord file growth", as most 
of my test files indeed were about 2K-4K in size, and grown in size 
significantly after KWord upgrade (to 1.2)
