very nice improvements indeed!

remaining issues that i notice (besides the ones already mentioned elsewhere 
in the thread, such as redundant titles):

 o each of the three sections of the dialog (list, iconview and preview) start 
at different points vertically.. this results in the eye doing a very tiring 
"V" motion through the dialog and makes quick scanning hard. perhaps think 
about getting them all top-aligned?

 o there's still a splitter ;-) ... i don't know if that's avoidable or not 
since there was some mention of reusing KFD code? it does provide a probably 
unecessary visual break

but it is looking great indeed =)))
