Well, don't get me wrong. I close this on the request of Frank (the reporter).

OTOH I agree with your idea of limiting the text inside cell. But instead of 
simply returning (and thus doing nothing), can we just strip it off, say only 
use the first 5000 chars ? IMHO that's the way in other spreadsheet apps.
