Contacts are made exactly for vaporware. It is to avoid that people start in 
parallel to work on the same filter. It also shows interested developers who 
to contact if they want to help transforming the vaporwear into real stuff.

When a filter will be commited into CVS, it will have its own status file and 
therefore there will not be a contact anymore in the general status file.
