For QDom, <tag> </tag> is the same as <tag/>

This happens even when using xml:space="preserve", as in
<TEXT xml:space="preserve">                          </TEXT>

Someone found that:

This mail is a request for this behaviour to be configurable, i.e. a setPreserveSpace(bool)
method for instance, in QDomDocument (to be called before setContent), so that 
we can ask QDom to preserve spaces when parsing.
