Unfortunately yes!

I can't use Karbon on my machine. It appears to render everything (including
the background) as black. I take it this is unintended?

I can still select objects, but changing their colour doesn't seem to do
anything.

The problem may be that I'm sitting at a Windows machine, and developing
over VNC...?
