I was considering working on the RTF filter. I am a newbie to Linux,
but have a lot of experience with C++ (also with UI development - I've
done a LOT of work for game companies) on the PC and Windows and thought
it might be a good way to start contributing. Please email me directly:

Hi David,
This is off topic but I haven't been able to reach you with private
mail. I
got a message from Hubert Figuiere <hfiguiere@teaser.fr> who is the
maintainer of the RTF import filter for abiword. He is interested in
forming
a joint effort for a RTF filter. This is being done for the MS Word
filter
as you have probably seen. I told him I could do some work on such a
project but I would be tied up on the export filter for a while to come.
If
you are interested, send Hubert a message and let him know your
thoughts.
Also if there is anyone else interested, let me or Hubert know.

Michael Johnson
