Subject: ANNOUNCE: KDB database access library available.

Hi all,

theKompany.com is proud to announce the start of a new OSS project:
KDB, a database access library for KDE.

The most important features of this library are:

- Complete data object hierarchy, from Databases to Fields
- DBMS independence through a plugin mechanism
- Extensibility. The plugins can define extension to the object model
  to implement DBMS specific mechanisms
- User interface building blocks. (This part need a lot of work, actually)
- Unique konqueror browsing capabilities through and sql I/O slave.

The project has just started, so the library is in its early stages of
development. That means the API is almost complete, browsing of databases
actually works such as some editing commands (like deletion of a table or
query
from the database). But the library must be considered a pre-ALPHA project
right now.

This library has the ambition to become the standard KDE database access
library,
and its unique features are meant to ease the development of KDE database
applications.

The library is licensed under the LGPL.

This is an open source project. Anyone who is willing to contribute to the
further
development of this project is welcome. Please contact me
