Torben Weis started to write a spreadsheet and a wordprocessing
application. Hehe - as I haven't been around at that time it
might be better if someone else answers this one ;)

Please have a look at the developers section on www.koffice.org.
Unfortunately only some of them are active right now.

Hmm... currently I'm employed by MandrakeSoft to work on KOffice.
David works on KDE in general (mainly Konqueror, kdelibs and
KOffice) and is also employed by them. Tackat draws lots of icons
(SuSE), Simon and Matthias are employed by Caldera. TrollTech
sponsored (among others like Caldera, SuSE, MandrakeSoft,
Kaläv<whatever> Dataconsult AB (Kalle's company),...) the K3B
event in Trysil, theKompany, some people donated hardware
(see www.koffice.org)...

...and I'm sure I forgot some people/companies...

I don't know the state of the stuff they do at theKompany.
It would be nice, though, if they would work in KDE CVS...
Shawn?

Hehe - you're kidding, right? I'm sorry, but I don't know
the plans of all the authors ;)

We really try to stay compatible with the old format, or at
least make it load old files via some conversion script.

No problem - please wait for other people anwering too,
though ;)
