they look rough. indeed, i think this may be a qt thing, because
fonts often look pretty bad in other kde apps as well. indeed, utopia
is the only one here that i can feel confident will display
acceptably in a broad range of sizes. for the longest time i thought
it was X, but then i saw the maxwell implementation. klyx does some
pretty good work in this regard, too. is it using QPainter?
