I'm one of KDE Google Summer of Code2007 students, and my project is
implementing text tool plugins for KOffice, one of them is a plugin
that shows a word count / statistics in a docker. But I think this
feature will only go for KOffice 2.0 right?

Actually, after using MS Word for few weeks, I find that the word
count toolbar/docker in MS Word is quite nice if you need to check the
statistics regularly.
