You can do that as soon as you alter the cell properties to have 'word wrap' 
enabled.
Right click on cell.
Choose 'Cell Format...'
In 'Position' click on 'Wrap text'
press ok.

While typing press shift-enter to go to a next line.

note that the hight of the cell does not auto-adjust you have to do that 
manually.
