Thanks for having looked into it.
Can you tell me which part of the logic broke?
queryClose, called by slotFileQuit, was supposed to either
 - save (-> setModified(false) implicitely)
 - not save (-> setModified(false) explicitely)
 - cancel (->queryClose returns false, so close() isn't called by slotFileQuit)

That's all in KoMainWindow, so why does the embedded document affect it?
I'm obviously missing something.

Is this not related to KoDocument::queryCloseDia / \
KoDocument::queryCloseExternalChildren, which is only supposed to be called for \
"external" children (which embedded docs are not, by default)... ? \
