Hi KOffice list.

The email Bruce typed here points to a bug in KWord (IMO); the color of the 
paper should have nothing to do with the color settings in KDE. I believe 
that the background color should always be white; up until we intend to 
provide a paper color setting for the active document.

Bruce; please go to http://bugs.kde.org and create a bug report for this. We 
will probably forget this otherwise...

Mr. Zander:

First, I apologize for writing to you if you aren't the correct person for
 this request, but it is the peril of being first on the list.

  I'd like to ask a question and/or make a feature request.  You see, I
 like to maintain a very dark theme on my KDE desktop, and it works out for
 me great most of the time.  One of the annoying things,though, is my need
 to keep the 'Standard Background' setting at pure white, mostly so I can
 see what I'm typing in kword/kspread. [v 1.2.91 on KDE 3.1.2]!  Is it
 possible to put a little checkbox into the config dialog that says 'keep
 my document [/page/typing area] white [/independent of the 'Standard
 Background'] ?  The only reason I ask is that a dark standard background
 looks great in lots of other apps, but Kword documents are often documents
 I intend on printing, and so I reall want to see them on a white
 background.  Is this possible, or is there a way to do this which I'm
 simply missing?
