This is such a strange directory... RedHat-8's setup is really weird.
Do you have anything in /usr/share/applnk-redhat/ ?
Does it help if you move one of the above kword.desktop files to it?
(IIRC a RedHat user told me he had to do something like that - which
is still a bit strange to me, if the applnk dir known to KDE is /var/lib/menu/....)

I really wish _RedHat_ would be doing the support on this problem :(

You have KDE both in /u/opt/kde/ and in /usr/share ? This should be fine,
but why does one given KDE knows about both dirs? I detect a possible
installation problem here...
